Two-Way Radio Accessories

We have a wide range of accessories to suit most rental models including audio accessories, earpieces, headsets, chargers, spare batteries, carry cases/bags, waterproof pouches, external antennas and more. Please see below for our most commonly used accessories and further information on each.

Lapel Speaker Microphone

Probably the most frequently used accessory is the lapel speaker microphone. With your radio clipped to your belt or bag the speaker mic allows the user to keep their hands free, transferring all audio to its own internal speaker. The accessory also has its own PTT (press-to-talk) key allowing easy communication both ways. There is a 3.5mm socket for connecting an external earpiece.

This accessory is well suited to people working outdoors in hands-on applications such as event management, staging, construction or traffic management.

Available for all rental models including Intrinsically Safe.

D-Hook Earpiece

The first on the list of earpieces and by far the most commonly used is the D-Hook Earpiece. It is both comfortable for the user to wear for long periods of time as well as easy for the user to communicate with. The soft D-shaped ring of the earpiece ‘hooks’ behind the back of the ear – hence the name. The speaker sits over the ear for a noninvasive listening experience and the PTT and microphone assembly clips to the lapel of the shirt or jacket worn by the user. The D-Hook earpiece is also available as a ‘listen-only’ option to connect to the 3.5mm socket on a lapel speaker microphone, for quick switching between an open speaker and a more discreet earpiece.

This accessory is well suited to users in low-to-moderate noise environments requiring discreet communications such as security, event operations, medical, management or catering.

Available for all Kenwood, Icom and Telo models.

Acoustic Airtube Earpiece

The acoustic airtube earpiece (also known as surveillance earpiece or covert earpiece) creates a very professional and visually discreet appearance whilst maintaining communication. The clear tube wraps over the top of the ear and the silicone or noise-attenuating foam earbud sits inside the ear much like an earplug. The inline PTT and microphone then clip to the front of the shirt or jacket worn by the user and the radio can be worn on the belt or inside a jacket.

This accessory is well suited to users in moderate-to-high noise or professional environments such as security, event management, valet or catering.

Available for all Kenwood, Icom and Telo models.

Lightweight Headset – Breeze

The Breeze headset from OTTO sits comfortably around the user’s head and features a lightweight boom microphone extending from the speaker. The Breeze is designed with comfort in mind and is easily worn for long periods in active environments. It can also be worn underneath a cap or helmet, making it both comfortable and versatile.

This accessory is well suited to users in low-to-moderate noise environments requiring active hands yet discreet communications; such as production, stage, dispatch or team management.

Available for most Kenwood and Icom models.

Heavy Duty, Noise-Cancelling Headset

Need to communicate in a loud environment? Then we have you covered! There are three different variations of heavy duty headsets available: dual-muff overhead, dual-muff around-head (suits a hat or helmet) and single-muff overhead. All three types have excellent noise cancellation ratings and are comfortable to wear for long periods.

Suitable for high-to-extreme noise environments such as race pits, race tracks, stage or entertainment.

Available for all Kenwood and Icom models.
